Mom and 4th aunt arrived on April 16th. We had a couple of days here, then extend trip to Vancouver BC to visit aunt and my cousin's new baby. We went to the usual places like Snoqualmie Falls and Hiram M. Chittenden locks. Photos are posted on flickr (some photos have permission only to family). We had lunch at the Regents Bakery for lunch one day and ordered chinese menu at Yea's :) Mmm ...

We then drove to Vancouver, B.C. on Saturday 18th, returned on April 21st. It was, again, more food, more shopping, more family... Due to the high concentration of Immigrant Chinese from Hong Kong (and mainland) ... I expected the food to be what I grew up with, loved, and miss dearly. Some of my favorite are dim sum at Po King in Burnaby (urban spoon link) . It is very typical of Chinese restaurants. The food is good and the service is non existence. The other is Crystal Mall in Burnaby. These and many more establishments in the area caters to Chinese (from HK and mainland). 98% of signage are in Chinese only, there was not one non-Chinese soul in sight. It felt like home.

The other favorite (and very different) of mine, is the Public Market at Granville Island. Oyama Sausage Company has the best looking and selection of charcuterie and cheeses. The proprietors are French :). Definitely not approved to go across the border. ChocolaTas has some amazing chocolate on display. Macaroons in rainbow colors at La Baguette Bakery ....
